"Weave" and "Crown"

It's been relaxing and enjoyable to be considering composition, value, and my mark-making. Of course, I see all of the mistakes ... it gives me a chance to practice what I always told my kids and my students, "We only learn by doing - it's never a bad thing to find parts you want to change." Extending myself that grace has really changed the way that I relate to these works. Instead of being so dismayed at the "problems" that I am mortified by the idea of anyone seeing them, I am just joyful.  Not without mistakes, certainly, but a fun moment in my time right here and now. 

That's my wish for all of you - that the creative processes you engage in bring joy, peace and satisfaction along with the critical attention most of us always carry. And may that critical attention simply cause us to keep going and refining.
